Embark on an exciting day hike to Mount Longonot, a dramatic stratification rising from the floor of the Great Rift Valley. This adventure offers a rewarding climb, stunning crater views, and encounters with wildlife all within a short drive from Nairobi.Located approximately 70 km northwest of Nairobi, Mount Longonot is a dormant volcano believed to have last erupted in the 1860s. It features a विशाल caldera (8 x 12 km) formed thousands of years ago, with a central crater rising to 2,780 meters above sea level. The hike takes you through rugged terrain up to the crater rim, followed by an optional full circuit around the crater. The mountain is home to wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and antelopes.
